And just like its name, given to it by settler William H. Engles, Farmington remains a terrific community for agriculture ventures and raising families. The Farmington school system is often praised for the success of its students, and new schools are planned or under construction to keep up with growing educational needs of its residents. Students don’t have to go to far from home to receive an excellent higher education as the University of Arkansas campus is only five miles west of Farmington.
